The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on Friday announced that schools in the city will remain closed till December 31, a change from the earlier decision to reopen them from November 23, as the metropolis witnesses an upward trend in Covid-19 cases.
"If the CET is allowed to be held, then a large number of students would be exposed and would face a threat to life. This would have a cascading effect," a division bench of Justices R D Dhanuka and R I Chagla of Bombay High Court said in its order.
The two-day deliberations, which will be held at Grand Hyatt in the suburbs, will begin in the evening of August 31 and from 10am on September 1. The meeting will be followed by a press conference, Raut informed.
